As pressure builds, Trump says he is using Defense Production Act to increase supply of masks

President Trump said Friday the federal government has begun to use the Defense Production Act to direct U.S. companies to produce emergency supplies of protective masks for health workers dealing with coronavirus patients, but is not using it to procure ventilators. “We are using it … for certain things that we need,” Trump said under questioning from reporters at the White House. “We have millions more masks that are coming,” Trump said.
